The UAE, a land of opportunity for space exploration?
Large amibitions:
The UAE are the subject of a fascination for many people, there are cities with futuristic landscapes, the most modern skyscrapers in the planet, megalomaniac projects, sometimes completely absurd. And sometimes cause us to wonder if they really know what to do with their money.
But what are clear in their strategy investissment (from their energetic resources) and they seek to talk about themselves, to exist in a 21st century in which so many things will happen.
They have therefore chosen communication, and to make the country and of Dubai a center at the forefront of finance, business, but also of science and soon space.
Hope ... is the name given to the first space mission of this nation. The Emirates Mars Mission is set to arrive at Mars in 2012 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the UAE.
This is a great project for the country that took the opportunity to create the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center, and also to support science education through partner with American universities and institutions.
Opportunities :
So, this is the first step for this Arab nation, to show its ambitions, which wishes to be among the world leaders. But no one can imagine that one day this small country, certainly rich, but only a few millions inhabitants, to undertake only a space mission to colonize the Moon or Mars.
And its leaders are well aware, this is why we've seen lately two particularly interesting companies approach the UAE: MarsOne and MarsPolar.
We read well in a press Mars One: "The Mars One co-founder and CEO was recently in Dubai to meet investors and to Investigate potential site for the simulation outpost". As I already wrote in another article, MarsOne is looking serious partner and wealthy ...
Dubai would constitute the place of training for future settlers.
We recall that the sending of the first wave of four astronauts should cost about $ 5 billion, which represents barely more than the cost of construction of the tower Burj Khalifa, the tallest tower in the world.
Because it is in this tower that is Mars Polar premises. Another project of colonization of the red planet. Comprised of a team of Russian engineer, Ukrainian and European generally their goal is to send men into the pole beyond Mars. The headquarters of the company would be somewhere in Europe or in Russia, but it is right in Dubai. It is clear that they are there to benefit from the financial support of wealthy people of the city.
If one looks to the future, these missions will be conducted with Russian, European or American technology but the nerve center of operations will remain in Dubai. What is emerging more and more precisely is that Dubai would become a management center, making international space missions.
Vision of the future:
Dubai has become over the years a size of global finance, and the city attracts many capital entrepises, banks and universities come settle. One area where the emirates could specialize is the exploration of space resources. Thus the stock market in Dubai could become the principal financial center of raw materials extracted on asteroids.
