The First Galactic Currency Soon Launched By Paypal
At the time the settlement projects of Mars are increasing, the online payment service PayPal said yesterday that he would design an intergalactic currency for space travelers.
"It's time to plan for the future (...) our earthly vision must be transposed into space," said the president of PayPal, David Marcus. The project was presented Thursday at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, a city located in Silicon Valley. Astronaut Jill Tarter specialized in the search for extraterrestrial life and Buzz Aldrin will take part. The conference is also designed to bring together all those interested in the design of an intergalactic financial system.
A currency that might already be used by the space workers
Astronauts living on the International Space Station and future space tourists will have to pay bills, for example when buying a digital product on the internet or in the future in space stores. "I think if we can find ways to work in space, let's you and me, to want to go too," said Jill Tarter.
Paypal is betting strong growth of space tourism requires the gradual establishment of a space company. The project Mars One, Space X or Virgin Galactic are good examples. By 2016, the Russians should also put into orbit a hotel, the Commercial Space Station (CSS). "To the extent that one begins to consider inhabit other planets, it will be interested in the practical realities of life," said David Marcus.
With this project intergalactic currency, Paypal could reach its initial goal of becoming a global currency. A crazy idea but will become much more concrete than is estimated earlier believed Vice President of Global Product at Paypal; Ferguson Hill.
